not enough morals not enough displine kids think its cool to be arrested. being arrested doesnt affect the kids the way it use to. Kids use to be afraid to get arrested. Not now.
If I thought about doing half of what the kids do today my mom and grandmother would have killed me and I never would have seen the light of day.
I loved my mom and grandmother so much that I would not try drugs just because I didnt want them to have to know of the arrest and then having to go home and face them. it was not worth the drugs or pain it would have cause them. Now kids dont thing likd this. they dont care |

| I think mos kids today act ike the world owes them a living. The government has taken the disipling of a child away from the parents. My parents were strict, as were most of the parents I knew, and we didn't talk back, or get into trouble, because we knew what was expected of us, but they also showed love, and respect for what we were and are. |

| There are many: Safety, too much on TV about open sex and homosexuality being acceptable before marriage. There are also dangereous drugs and today's children have most so cruel, it is unbelieveable, with kids getting anti-deppresents as the norm and teenage suicide rates higher than ever before |

| Teaching them to think for themselves and not just follow the crowd. To not be afraid to say no when their friends want them to do something they are uncomfortable with. |

| The drugs that are so prevalent. When I was growing up in the 1940's there was lots of hard work for me, and no time to get into much trouble. Also everything is made so handy, there's lots of time to find trouble. |

| My concern is that there is an approval of single parent families; adoptions by lesbians or gay men;selfish parents wanting to have it all-mansions,etc.;as it was in the past, we made do on one salary,sacrificed those first 5-6 years of our children's lives to nurture,gain their trust-I can show results--my unfortunate divorce was due to alcoholism,abuse,but even after 10 years, there has been no other man in my life-I still love my husband--I could not take care of him, and our children understand Vietnam/ AgentOrange/ Alcoholism. Parents are too busy working so much they are neglecting their children--bad news-=children are raising themselves/have watched numerous mental illnesses,suicides,anger,violence towards One parent or both--It really does not look good today. I say, live cheaper and be there for your children, even until 6 or 7 yrs., it is called SACRIFICE OF MATERIAL THINGS. |

| There are to many things to list here, but as a mom of and 18yr old and a 2 year old I would have to say that to many parents give to many FREEDOMS liberally without thought to consequence later in life. How does a child with no limits, then learn to limit themselves and be their own leader. The blind can NOT lead the blind and a child without boundries can not set them entirely for themselves. We learn from our mistakes, but only if we understand that for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction. |
