| Considering the times of the depression up until now, what age in history do your believe society enjoyed more happily married couples?
(Please comment the reason for the peroid you chose) |

I'm not sure, but I do know however that divorce was unthinkable a long time ago, now we can divorce and marry as many times as we please, no matter how much the children are effected

I really don't know but I would have to say in the depression. I only know that there are a lot more couples that got married then that are still married now. When people started to get married abou ther early 80, there are many that have been devorsed and many that are remairred.

Maybe the 40-50s people seemed to stand together better or maybe things where hidden more. I just wished people would try a little harder to work things out but believe me sometimes it just doesn't work.

I think the 40's & 50's seem the most stable time. People seem to have more commitment & integrity to their spouses, family & themselves.

I would say the sixties.....look at our grandparents...the majority are STILL married and gives us advise on maitaining a happy marriage even though at times it is tough

30s into early 50s

IN the 50's they work at there marrages as a team, keep thier family as one
|

probably the 50's. it was after the war and before the drugs and free love of the sixties when sex diseases became more well known & spread more rapidly.

Between the 50's to the late 70's. It seems we still had somewhat of a strong family connection and value..Instead of the value of a dollar coming before the family.

I think married couples were seen more happily married in the 1950's or 60's. It warms my heart to see anybody with parents that are still happily married!

the depression, because you don't have the luxuries and extra things to tear you and families apart

I believe that probably during the late 1900's into the early 20th century more happily married couples existed. As time went on and with the independence of women sprang up this was the start of marriages collapsing because the women were going outside the home looking for something more in life.

1950's

when you older you enjoyed more happily in married
